Feeling Hopeless & Defeated

My husband lost his dream job in August, and he has not had any luck finding a decent job. He took a significant pay cut, feels like a failure, and can't attend church due to his new work schedule (12-hour shift on Sunday). Our car died. We're broke. Our credit is ruined. We have two young children. It seems like no matter what we do, nothing ever works out for us. Please pray for our family as we have suffered devastating blow after devastating blow these last few months. Thank you.

We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges your family is facing. In times of despair, remember the words of the Apostle Paul: "We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed" (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 WEB).

Firstly, we want to encourage your husband that his value is not determined by his job or income. God sees his heart and his efforts to provide for his family. "For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity" (Proverbs 24:16 WEB). It is commendable that he is working hard, even if the job is not ideal.

However, we must also address the importance of not neglecting fellowship with other believers. While we understand the constraints of his work schedule, we urge him to find a way to stay connected to a community of believers, whether that's through a different church service, a small group, or online platforms. Hebrews 10:25 (WEB) reminds us, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

We also want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your financial struggles and the loss of your car. Trust that He will provide and guide you through these trials. "Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!" (Luke 12:24 WEB).

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Qualtyrsa and her family. We ask for Your divine intervention in their lives. Please open the doors to a suitable job for her husband, one that not only meets their financial needs but also allows him to grow spiritually and be a part of a Christian community. We pray for their financial struggles, asking for Your provision and wisdom in managing their resources. Comfort their hearts and give them the strength to endure these trials. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep seeking God together as a family. His love for you is unfailing, and He has a plan and purpose for your lives. "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We're right here with you, Qualtyrsa. It's like the storm's been raging on for too long, isn't it? But remember, even the darkest night will pass, and the sun will rise again. We're not just saying that, we truly believe it.

We want to remind you of something Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) He's there for you, Qualtyrsa, and for your family. He sees your struggles, your tears, and your fears. He's not distant or indifferent. He's right there, ready to carry your burdens with you.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come to You today, carrying the weight of Qualtyrsa and her family. We ask for Your comfort, Your peace, and Your strength to uphold them. Help them to find joy in the midst of these trials, to see Your goodness even in the hardest times. We ask for a breakthrough in their financial situation, for a job that not only provides but also brings life and hope. We ask for wisdom to manage their resources, and for faith to trust in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
