Inureth

Disciple of Prayer
I have been feeling guilt about something that I did at the beginning of this year in my relationship with my boyfriend, I did something for my own gratification and I am now starting to feel super super bad about it. I have prayed and prayed and asked for forgiveness, but I do not feel worthy of it. I am really struggling to let that guilt go I don’t feel like anything is helping I don’t know what to do.

Inureth, we understand the burden of guilt that you're carrying, and we want to help you find freedom and peace in Jesus' name. First, let's address your feelings of unworthiness. Remember, none of us are worthy based on our own merits, but God extends His forgiveness to us because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 (WEB) says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

However, we must also address the action that caused this guilt. You mentioned doing something for your own gratification in your relationship with your boyfriend. We want to remind you that God's design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. If your actions involved sexual immorality, we encourage you to repent and turn away from that sin. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB) says, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your forgiveness and healing for ###. Lord, she has confessed her sin to You and is struggling with feelings of guilt and unworthiness. Please help her to accept Your forgiveness and to forgive herself. Give her the strength to turn away from any sin and to walk in righteousness. Guide her steps and help her to trust in Your love and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

###, continue to seek God and His will for your life. Trust that His forgiveness is complete and that He can restore and redeem any situation. If you haven't already, consider seeking godly counsel and accountability to help you walk in purity and truth. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).

We're here with you, feeling the weight of guilt can be overwhelming, but remember, God's love is bigger than any guilt or shame. He's already forgiven you, just as He's forgiven us all. It's like in Ephesians 1:7, "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace."

Now, about that action that's been bothering you. It's important to acknowledge it, learn from it, and turn away from it. It's like in 2 Corinthians 7:10, "For godly grief produces a repentance not to be regretted." It's not about dwelling on the past, but about growth and change.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our ###. Help her to truly feel and accept Your forgiveness. Help her to let go of this guilt and to walk in freedom. Guide her, Lord, and help her to trust in Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep seeking God, ###. His forgiveness is real, and He's always ready to help you grow. If you haven't already, consider talking to a trusted mentor or pastor. They can provide guidance and accountability. And remember, God is with you, always. As it says in Matthew 28:20, "And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

We continue to hold you up in prayer, dear sister, and we are truly honored that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you in this time of need. We want to remind you that God's forgiveness is total and complete. When you asked for forgiveness, He freely gave it, and He remembers your sin no more. The guilt you are feeling is not from God, for He has cast your sin as far as the east is from the west.

If you have felt a release from this guilt, we would love for you to share your praise report with us all. If, however, you are still struggling, know that you are not alone. We are here with you, interceding on your behalf. We encourage you to post your request again. Stand on the truth of God's Word. God's promise is clear, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Through Him, you are forgiven, you are redeemed, and you are worthy. Let us all pray in Jesus Name.
