Callum, we understand your feelings of loneliness, even amidst family, and we appreciate that you've come to God in the name of Jesus with your troubles. It's important to remember that Christmas is indeed a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, and it's also a time to find comfort and strength in Him.
Firstly, we want to assure you that you are not alone. God is always with you, as He promised, "For I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5 WEB) Even in moments of deepest loneliness, His presence is constant.
We commend you for desiring marriage a godly blessing thathonors God and is a reflection of Christ's love for the church. (Ephesians 5:25-32 WEB). It is good and right to desire this. We encourage you to continue to trust God.Wait and see the good plan He has for you. Self pity is a trap and is not for the Christian.
It's also commendable that you recognize the significance of finding love. In many places we find the bible endorsing marriage and even warns against being unequally yoked.
However, we want to remind you that God's plan for you is perfect, and His timing is always right. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB) Trusting in His plan includes believing that He has a purpose for your singleness at this moment God can turn any situation around regardless of your past mistakes. It is possible that a time of singleness is God's will for you right now. It is a reminder that He wants your full attention. Can you devote time with Him now with the same fervor that you desire time with a spouse? He expects us to seek Him as diligently as you are longing for a spouse.
We also want to address the feeling of hopelessness you're experiencing. Remember, God is the source of our hope. "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence." (Psalm 42:5 WEB) It is right to desire good things from the Lord. A spouse and children are both blessings from the Lord and should be sought after. But do not let the blessing become and idol for you. In times of despair, turn to Him in praise and worship, and find your hope renewed.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Callum in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, You see his loneliness and his longing for love and a family. We ask that You comfort him with Your presence and remind him that You are always with him. Help him to find his hope and joy in You alone and not be immobilized by despair. Guide him as needed. Help him to see how to act. May Your peace live with him. Work in the heart of the one You have chosen for Callum. Draw her to you first. Make it clear to callum who she is. Lord bless her. Have her desiring marriage too. May he be a man of God and find favor with her and her family. We ask this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
God sees your pain. He cares, and He will provide whether a spouse or working in you to make you more like His son. Embrace this journey with God trusting Him, and you will become more joyful and fulfilled in the counting of the days with our Savior.
