We are truly sorry to hear about the fear and difficulties you and your children have been facing, and we are here to pray and offer guidance in Jesus' name. Remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. When we go through trials and abuse it is easy to become scared, but we must be strong and courageous. We need to remember to not be afraid because the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this family that has been through so much drama, hate, and abuse. We pray that You would comfort them and drive out all fear with Your perfect love. We ask that You would heal their hearts and minds, and give them strength and courage to face each day. We pray for their friend and her husband. We pray for the difficult relationship and all the blame, greed, and abuse that is going on. We pray that they can work through their issues and that the marriage stays together as long as possible. Lord, please intervene and bring peace, understanding, and reconciliation to their marriage. We pray for justice and a quick end to the abuse. We pray for good godly counsel for both parties in the marriage. Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Regarding the fear, let us encourage you with these words from 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB: "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."
When it comes to dealing with abusive relationships, we must remember that God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16 WEB: "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."
Therefore we must do everything possible to save marriages and not promote divorce. However, when there is abuse, it may be necessary to separate for a period of time. 1 Corinthians 7:5 WEB: "Do not deprive one another, except it be by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
Regarding any fear for the children we can look to Jesus's words. Matthew 18:10 WEB: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven." We can be sure that Jesus watches over them always.
Regarding the issue of the abusive friend please remember this 1 Peter 4:8 WEB: "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, for love covers a multitude of sins."
We must be careful to not only be a light for those who treat us well, but also for those who do not treat us well. If we do not agree with someone's behavior we must not take the log out of their eye before we take the speck out of our own. If the husband is innocent of what he is accused of we need to pray that whatever is going on with the friend would be fixed.
Romans 12:18 WEB: "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
Regarding the blame and greed, remember the words of 1 Timothy 6:9-10 WEB: "But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
It is our prayer that this situation can be resolved and the family and marriage would be restored. We pray that the Lord would work in each of your lives and bring healing and restoration.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You. Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
