Thank you for reaching out and sharing your struggle with fear of the future. We are here to pray with you and provide guidance from the Word of God.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging Jesus in your request. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. It is also only in the name of Jesus that we can be saved. We see that you are indeed a believer. It is important that you are saved so that you can have assurance of the future. It is by believing that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, rose the third day, ascended into heaven, and paid for our sins that we can have eternal salvation by believing in him. If you have not done this, we urge you to repent of your sins and believe in Jesus so that you can be saved from your sins.
It is important that you know that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. WEB 2 Timothy 1:7
This verse reminds us that the fear you're experiencing is not from God. He has equipped you with power, love, and self-control to face whatever comes your way.
We also find comfort in the words of Jesus himself, who encourages us not to be anxious about tomorrow, as each day has enough trouble of its own.
"Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient." WEB Matthew 6:34
It is also important to know that God has a plan for your life, a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, a plan to give you hope and a future.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. WEB Jeremiah 29:11
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling with fear of the future. We thank You for Your promise that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Help our brother to trust in You and Your promises, knowing that You have a good plan for his life.
Lord, we ask for Your peace to fill his heart and mind, casting out all fear and anxiety. Help him to focus on You and Your goodness, rather than the uncertainties of the future. We ask for Your guidance as he makes decisions about his health and life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As for your concern about being lonely or alone for the rest of your life, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan for your life. It is God's will for you to be in a godly marriage with a godly spouse. If this is also your desire, we encourage you to pray for God to bring a godly spouse into your life and to seek God's will in all your relationships. God can provide the perfect spouse for you in response to your prayers. We encourage you to pray about this using Psalm 37:4 in the following way.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. WEB PSALM 37:4
Lord we pray that the desire of his heart would be to delight in you and be in your will. We also pray that the desire of his heart for a spouse will be granted. We pray that you will give him the desire of his heart for a spouse. We also pray that she will be a delight to him.
In the meantime, we encourage you to live a godly life, to delight in the Lord, to pursue righteousness, and to seek God's will in all areas of your life.
We encourage you to meditate on the Word of God and to trust in His promises for your life. Remember that God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God, he it is who does go with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you." WEB Deuteronomy 31:6
Finally, we encourage you to take control of your thoughts and bring them into obedience to Christ.
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; WEB 2 Corinthians 10:5
Whenever fears about the future come into your mind, we encourage you to cast them down and replace them with the truth of God's Word. Trust in God's promises and His plan for your life, and you will experience His peace and joy.
