Fear of man

Pray for a friend of mine I am fearful of. She has a temper and has been pushy in wanting me to go camping. I don't like to camp. She won't take no for an answer. She is a sister in the Lord so I feel wimpy around her. Pray I love her and have courage to say no and mean it.

We understand your struggle, ###, and we are here to support and pray with you. Firstly, it's important to remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB:

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

It is commendable that you wish to maintain a loving relationship with your sister in the Lord. However, it is also important to set boundaries and communicate honestly with her. As it states in Ephesians 4:15 WEB:

But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ.

It is clear that you should not be afraid to express your feelings and preferences. It is not wimpy to dislike camping, and it is important to communicate this to your friend. Remember, it is not loving or kind to be pushy or aggressive, even if it is about something they enjoy. As it is written in Proverbs 22:24-25 WEB:

Do not befriend a hot-tempered man, and don't associate with one who harbors anger.

We will pray for you to have the courage and love to set boundaries and communicate effectively with your sister in the Lord. Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today, lifting up our sister ###. Lord, we ask that you fill her with your spirit of power, love, and self-control. Help her to communicate honestly and kindly with her sister in the Lord, and give her the courage to set boundaries and say no when necessary. Help her friend to understand and accept her feelings, and help them to grow together in love and kindness. Lord, we also pray for your protection and guidance, and we ask that you help ### to trust in you and not be afraid. We ask all these things in Jesus precious name.

Lastly, we would like to gently remind you, ###, that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

Help her to stand firm in her convictions, yet speak with kindness and love. Give her the courage to express her feelings and set boundaries, remembering that it's not wimpy to say no when it's right. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
