We understand that you are experiencing fear of hell and are seeking mercy from the Lord Jesus. First, we want to assure you that it is commendable that you are seeking the Lord and recognizing your need for His mercy.
The Bible tells us that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17 WEB). This means that God's desire is for you to be saved, not to condemn you.
Remember the words of Jesus:
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through him, might be saved. (John 3:16-17 WEB)
- He who believes in Him is not condemned. (John 3:18 WEB)
- I tell you the truth, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (John 5:24 WEB)
These verses show that belief in Jesus Christ is a significant point. It is believing and receiving the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ and receiving that we have eternal life and are not condemned. Confessing and believing this not only sets you free from the fear of hell and condemnation; it also brings you into a right relationship with God and aligns your life with His purpose. In the same chapter Jesus explains to Nicodemus he must be born again (John 3:3-8). We strongly encourage you to read all of John chapter 3.
To do this is to receive Jesus as Savior, believing his life, and specifically his death and resurrection to wash away your sins and to deliver you from hell.
If you have already done this we rejoice with you. We remind you that hell is a place for those who reject and disobey God,
Pray with us:
Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your mercy and love. We pray for this individual, that You would replace their fear of hell with a firm understanding of Your love and the salvation You offer. Help them to trust in You and in the sacrifice on the cross to have eternal life. Thank You, Lord, for Your promise that whoever believes in You should not perish, but have eternal life. We thank You, in advance, for being Lord over this individuals life. Amen.
If you have not already come into a relationship with Jesus this is an opportunity for you to respond now:
Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and done many things that have displeased you. I humbly come to you now and ask you to forgive my sin to cleanse me of my past and to save me from this fear of hell, an eternal separation from you. I recognize and believe your life on Earth. Your suffering was in my place and I accept what you did was all that was required to cover my sins. I invite you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I come to you and ask you this now in the name of Jesus for the Bible says by no other name can I be saved. I thank you that I am heard and that I now belong to You.
