Let us address the issue of favoritism, acknowledging Jesus in our request. Favoritism and partiality are traps that the enemy uses to divide and cause strife. As believers, we are called to love everyone without bias or prejudice. In James 2:1, 8-9, we are warned, "My brothers, don't hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality. ... If you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors."
Lord Jesus, you are the only way to the Father, and it is in your name that we pray. We confess that we have not always been impartial, and we ask for your forgiveness and guidance. Help us to love others as you have loved us, without favoritism. Help us to see others through your eyes, valuing each person as your creation. Give us wisdom and discernment to act justly and treat others fairly.
Let us also remember that God does not show favoritism. In Romans 2:11, it is written, "For there is no partiality with God." We are all created in His image, and He desires that everyone should come to repentance.
Therefore, let us be mindful of our actions and strive to live according to God's will. We must not only avoid favoritism but also love genuinely, not merely in word, but in deed and truth. As we pray and seek God's face, let us be lights in this world, shining brightly for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and not be ashamed to acknowledge him and what he has done for us on the cross. Let us always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is within us. Amen.
