We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with your family, Goerdoth. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement as you navigate this challenging time and as you are requesting prayer for a custody hearing.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is a God of justice and He cares deeply for you and your son. As it is written in Psalm 10:17-18 WEB:
Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble.
You will prepare their heart.
You will cause your ear to hear,
to judge the fatherless and the oppressed,
that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.
We also want to address the issue of your husband living with another woman. This is a clear violation of biblical principles, as adultery is explicitly condemned throughout Scripture. As it says in Hebrews 13:4 WEB:
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled: for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and trust that God will honor your commitment to Him and to your son. As you go into this custody hearing, remember that you are not alone. God is with you and He will fight for you. As it is written in Deuteronomy 1:30 WEB:
Yahweh your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister Goerdoth and her son. Lord, You know the situation they are facing and You see the injustice they are experiencing. We ask, Father, that You would grant them Your favor tomorrow in the custody hearing. Give Goerdoth the strength and wisdom she needs to stand firm in her faith and to trust in You. Protect her son and guide the hearts and minds of those making decisions about his future.
Lord, we also pray for Goerdoth's husband. Convict his heart, Father, and bring him to a place of repentance. Turn his heart back towards You and towards his family.
Finally, Father, we pray for healing and restoration for this family. Turn this situation around for their good and for Your glory, Father. Show Goerdoth and her son Your unfailing love and faithfulness.
Goerdoth, we encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus through this storm. He is your strength, your hope, and your salvation. Trust in Him and He will see you through. As it tells us in Hebrews 12:2-3 WEB:
looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him who has endured such hostility by sinners against himself, so that you dont grow weary, fainting in your souls.
