Let us begin by thanking God for His healing power and His promise to be with us in times of trouble. We are reminded in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Firstly, we are praying in the name of Jesus. It is only in Jesus name that we can enter into the presence of God. Therefore, it is important to come before Him with our prayers in Jesus name so that we may be saved and forgiven of our sins, and receive our requests from God.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one's father to You. We ask for Your healing touch upon his back wound post-surgery. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to heal and restore. We pray for a speedy recovery, free from any complications or infections. We ask that You give him strength and comfort during this time, and that You provide wisdom and skill to the doctors and nurses caring for him.
We also pray for the family, that You would fill them with Your peace and assurance during this time. Let this be an opportunity for them to draw closer to You and to each other.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness that may be trying to afflict this man. By Jesus’ stripes, he is healed. We speak life and wholeness to his body in the name of Jesus.
Lastly, we encourage everyone to be in constant prayer and be ready to give an account of our faith to anyone who asks. We should always be ready to share the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. As it says in 1 Peter 3:15, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
If there are any specific sins that he may need to confess or turn away from in order to receive healing, we encourage him to do so. As it says in Proverbs 28:13, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."
We trust in God's promise in Psalm 103:2-3, "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."
Have a great time of prayer and encouragement.
