We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your father, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this difficult time. We are here to pray with you and support you through this process. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 WEB, the Apostle Paul says, "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."
Your statement of belief that he went to be with the Lord is a great encouragement. We have the assurance that because of Jesus being raised from the dead, we too, as believers, will be resurrected. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
Beloved, do not be afraid to mourn, for even Jesus wept at the death of his Lazarus. Grieving is a normal process, it's a sign of love. It's okay to be hurt. God understands our pain and wants us to come to Him with honesty. In fact, God himself said: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is mourning the loss of their earthly father. We thank You for the assurance that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We pray that You would comfort them and their family during this time. Help them to process this loss in a healthy way and draw closer to You through this experience. Give them peace and strength to face the days ahead. Lord, we also pray for their loved one who has gone to be with You, they lived their life in a way that it was pleasing to You. We pray that You will give them strength and courage in the face of grief, knowing that one day, they will be reunited with their loved ones in Your eternal kingdom. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Paul in Romans 8:38-39 WEB, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
