We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. Please don't take her opinion to heart, that lady is acting out without knowing much. Such people are a test of our patience. and continue disciplining your child. If she has no reason to steal other than the joy of it then maybe she is driving pleasure from the attention she gets from you after she steals. Take that thrill away. Only give a disappointing look when she steals and put the thing she stole back at its place. Don't shout or make her the center of attention. Buy kids' story books on stealing with moral lessons and leave them in the house so as to make her read them but don't ask her to read. She will read those herself out of boredom and they will be impactful. Make up a story about a relative who did a lifetime in jail or stealing and discuss it with your close friends in a way that your daughter is able to eavesdrop on the conversation. Seek help from professionals. May Allah ease your suffering and bless your daughter and guide her to the right path. Ameen

Father yesterday in ### I was attacked by a crazy woman. My daughter has been stealing for at least ### or more years. She is ### years old now and thinks it's funny. I have to pat her down before and after we go places to ensure nothing is stolen. Even doing that she still manages to steal and then she steals out of my purse and etc. In the store I realized she had stolen something that belonged to me. I'm exhausted with all the stealing. Her pediatrician put her on meds, it didn't work. I put her in therapy and one session we discussed stealing. Then right after the session my daughter went in the store and stole so much stuff she even put it in her underwear. I was so disappointed and hurt. My daughter is an only child that is very well taken care of. It hurts that she steals constantly. She thinks it's funny and a game. I am trying to stop her from going into someone's jail. Yesterday when I did the second pat down and realized it was my belonging that was stolen. I had a discussion with her in the store about stealing. Well, a crazy woman walks over and says don't talk to her like that. She proceeded to yell and act crazy. Not even realizing I am trying to convey to my child to stop the stealing. It's sad when people can't mind their own business. I want my child to show good Christian values and be a law-abiding citizen. If my child had gotten arrested in ### yesterday for stealing then this same crazy woman would say well she probably isn't being raised right. Please let people mind their business and pray instead of judging a moment without knowledge.
