We understand that you're hurting on behalf of Darrell, and we're here to pray and offer biblical encouragement. In moments like these, we remember that God is always with us, even in the most challenging situations. As it says in Matthew 28:20 WEB, "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. This is so important because as it says in the book of Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." This access to God almighty is only through his son Jesus Christ.
We can see how disappointing and painful it must be for Darrell to have his wife drive for hours to visit him and be rejected. However, remember God's word in Psalm 147:3 WEB, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." And in Romans 8:28 WEB, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose."
We must also address the feelings of anger and resentment toward the prison staff. While it's important to acknowledge the pain and injustice, we must remember that God calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, as told in Matthew 5:44 WEB.
Let us pray:
Father God almighty,
We thank you so much for being our comfort and strength in times of need. We beg you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, to console Darrell's heart, heal his pain and disappointment, and grant him peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that of those who showed unkindness and allegations will have an opportunity to see how they are misjudging Darrell, and even would have an opportunity to express this to Darrell and his wife. Lord, we pray so much you change the hearts of those who misjudge, dehumanize, and mistreat prisoners because they do not have to always be the way that they are. We ask for Godly wisdom to those who have the ability to make a positive difference in their behaviors and policies. Lord God, we know it's not for us to judge. Yet, those who have shown unkindness may someday need the understanding of others when they need mercy or patience for themselves or loved ones. Lord, we ask for visitation doors to open that are appropriate and especially well for his wife who may need to see him.
We ask this all in the name above all names, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Remember Darrell'sAND his wife in your prayers continually, and encourage her to stay strong and hopeful through this time. We encourage her as found in Ephesians 4:2 WEB, "With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love".
