We understand your concerns, Tohient, and we are here to pray with you and provide guidance from God's Word.
Firstly, we commend you for approaching the throne of grace in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God (John 14:6 WEB).
Regarding your mother's violence, God calls us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB), but He also does not desire for us to be harmed. We pray that God will bring peace to your home and change your mother's heart. Remember, God can soften the hardest hearts and bring peace where there is chaos (Proverbs 21:1 WEB). We pray for her salvation and that she will be filled with the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB).
Concerning your struggle with masturbation, we want to encourage you to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). This sin is one that should be taken seriously, as it is a sin against your own body. However, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). We pray that God will strengthen you and help you to resist this temptation.
Lastly, when you mention overcoming your enemies, we want to remind you of what Jesus said: "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This is a challenging commandment, but with God's help, you can obey it.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Tohient and their mother. Lord, we ask for Your intervention in their home. Bring peace where there is violence, and change her heart, Lord. Help Tohient to honor their mother while also being wise and safe.
Lord, we also lift up Tohient's struggle with masturbation. Give them the strength to resist this temptation and the power to live a life of purity. Help them to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB).
Finally, Lord, help Tohient to love their enemies, to bless those who curse them, and to do good to those who hate them. Give them the grace to pray for those who mistreat them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord, Tohient. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will help you through these challenges.
