We understand your struggle and commend you for seeking God's help. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 7:15, "For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do." This internal struggle is not uncommon, but God has provided a way out.
Firstly, we rebuke the sinful habits that have taken hold of your life. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Your body is not your own, and it is time to take control back from these destructive habits.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with addictions and ungodly habits. Lord, they have acknowledged their helplessness and are calling out to You. We ask that You break the chains of addiction in their life, whether it be from alcohol, drugs, or sexual immorality. Give them the strength to overcome these struggles, according to Your word in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live a life fully devoted to You. Restore their joy, give them peace, and help them to walk in Your ways. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is faithful. He will help you overcome these struggles. Stand firm in your faith and resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey. Remember, God loves you and He is with you every step of the way.
