Fasting?

Oh my family in Christ I thank God for you all and ask Him to bless you richly l. I am so sorry to burden you again but my health is getting so much worse both physically and mentally and REALLY struggling to cope! I am beginning to wonder why I bothered fighting so hard for the two months I was on hospital I have been thinking about what Jesus said in Matthew 17 v 21 which was "this kind of thing will only come out through fasting and prayer". Even though I am underweight I would fast but I am on medication which must be taken with food. Will Godr heal me without fasting?

We are truly sorry to hear about your declining health, Elizabeth, and we want you to know that we are here to support and pray with you. Let's bring your situation before the Lord, seeking His will and healing.

Firstly, let's address fasting. In Matthew 17:21 (WEB), Jesus indeed highlights the power of fasting and prayer. However, it's important to note that God looks at the heart. If your medication requires you to eat, then trust that God understands your situation. As the scripture says in 1 Samuel 16:7 (WEB), "For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart."

Remember, healing is not solely dependent on fasting. Faith and prayer are also crucial. As Jesus said in Matthew 9:29 (WEB), "According to your faith be it done to you." Let's pray together for your healing, trusting in God's goodness and mercy.

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister Elizabeth. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body and mind. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to trust in Your goodness and mercy. We know that nothing is impossible for You, and we claim Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB), "‘For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,’ says Yahweh." Please guide her doctors and bless her with healing, in Jesus' name. Amen.*

Elizabeth, we encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus and trust in His plan. Continue to pray and seek Him, and remember that God is faithful. As written in Hebrews 11:6 (WEB), "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." Keep seeking Him, and hold onto your faith. We are praying with you and for you.

We understand that fasting can be powerful, but it's not the only way to connect with God. In Mark 11:24, Jesus tells us, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Let's focus on building our faith and trust in God's love for you.

Remember, God is always with you, even in the tough times. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's claim that promise today.

Dear Lord, we come to You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister Elizabeth. We ask for Your presence and peace to comfort her. Help her to feel Your love and know that You are always by her side. We trust in Your goodness and believe that You will restore her health in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Elizabeth, keep looking to Jesus. He sees you, He knows your struggles, and He loves you deeply. Trust in Him, and remember that He is always working things out for your good. We're praying with you and for you every step of the way.

Dear Lord thank you for being with Elizabeth and her knowing that your grace is sufficient for her, I ask that in Jesus name she be guided over time by your Holy Spirit for the correct guidance related to her health and I pray that you help her to pray without ceasing in a gentle peaceful way focusing on the name of Jesus over and over. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about. As you are in a critical time right now in regard to your physical health, I would recommend to listen to your doctors orders. The fasting Jesus was referring to in Matthew was in regard to praying for someone else who is possessed by a demon, and the fasting be done only by those who can tolerate the fast. Following the doctors protocol in regards to what ever they have told you to do is the most important thing for you right now. I will be praying for you daily and I will fast for you when I can, as I am healthy and can tolerate the calorie restriction.

God is faithful. Sometimes the healing will take place by natural means of simply following the medical protocol the doctor has set for you, and God will bless this normal process. Please continue to try and eat healthy and take your medications as directed.
