Esther 4:16 :
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
How This Verse Relates to a Loving God :Esther 4:16 reflects God’s love in His involvement in the lives of His people. Though God’s name is not explicitly mentioned in the book of Esther, His care and protection are evident in the way He positions Esther to be a deliverer for the Jewish people. Esther’s reliance on prayer and fasting shows her understanding that God is the one who ultimately holds her fate in His hands. She trusts in His love and faithfulness, even as she faces the possibility of death. God’s love is also shown in the way He uses ordinary people like Esther to accomplish His purposes. Despite her fears and limitations, God equips Esther for the task before her, guiding her to be a source of salvation for her people.
How This Verse Connects to Jesus Christ:
Esther’s willingness to risk her life for her people foreshadows the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Just as Esther stepped forward to intercede for the Jews, knowing she might die, Jesus willingly laid down His life to intercede for humanity. Esther’s words, “If I perish, I perish,” mirror the resolve of Christ, who chose to die on the cross for the salvation of the world. Jesus’s sacrifice was the fulfillment of God’s plan for redemption, and like Esther, He acted out of love and obedience to God’s will. In both stories, we see the theme of intercession, with Esther and Jesus standing in the gap to save others.
Our prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with us during our everyday obstacles, and even if we at times question, Would we trust in the strength of God, or will we allow fear to dictate our actions? So sorry if Before I question as to why God allowed Satan to tempt our first parents, wherein sin disconnects us from our Creator. But then You helped me realized that You LORD God is always a just and loving God. Because of the distinction on how You LORD God dealt between angels and us, humans, wherein Satan, a fallen and rebellious angel, was given eternal judgment by God, while we humans were given temporary judgment and still infinitely obtained God’s holiness, righteousness, and goodness, His unending great mercy, grace and blessings. In these , we heartily thank You for being a faithful and loving God. Thank You that through the suffering, sacrifice, and love of the risen Adam, who is Jesus Christ, we receive new life with God. Thanking Jesus who is called “the Author of salvation” and “the Author of our faith.” May God’s plan of redemption and restoration, with the help of God's Holy Spirit, may we be guided by God's Word in the Bible and aligned with God's will always. And we give praise that we have received the eternal plan of salvation and restoration of God because we are the church of Christ. Whatever God has planned for us this year, may we put our faith that is in consistent with God’s will. Help us LORD God whenever we deal with political alliances or personal choices, help us not to turn away from You, LORD God for it will lead us to negative consequences. We trust in the You as our Messiah and Redeemer, who loves us, protects us, and ultimately wins the victory over all opposition. Through Jesus Christ, we have the assurance that God fights for us and has already overcome the world. In Jesus’ name we give our praise. Amen.
