Esther 4:16 :
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

How This Verse Relates to a Loving God Esther 4:16 reflects God’s love in His involvement in the lives of His people. Though God’s name is not explicitly mentioned in the book of Esther, His care and protection are evident in the way He positions Esther to be a deliverer for the Jewish people. Esther’s reliance on prayer and fasting shows her understanding that God is the one who ultimately holds her fate in His hands. She trusts in His love and faithfulness, even as she faces the possibility of death. God’s love is also shown in the way He uses ordinary people like Esther to accomplish His purposes. Despite her fears and limitations, God equips Esther for the task before her, guiding her to be a source of salvation for her people.

How This Verse Connects to Jesus Christ Esther’s willingness to risk her life for her people foreshadows the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Just as Esther stepped forward to intercede for the Jews, knowing she might die, Jesus willingly laid down His life to intercede for humanity. Esther’s words, “If I perish, I perish,” mirror the resolve of Christ, who chose to die on the cross for the salvation of the world. Jesus’s sacrifice was the fulfillment of God’s plan for redemption, and like Esther, He acted out of love and obedience to God’s will. In both stories, we see the theme of intercession, with Esther and Jesus standing in the gap to save others.

Our prayer:
Dear God, we come before You with boldness and confidence, knowing that You are a God of mercy and grace. We ask that You would pour out Your mercy upon us and help us to find the grace we need in this time of need. We pray that You would guide us and give us strength to face the challenges that lie ahead. Thank You for Your love and Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name we give our praise. Amen.

Tang Wei Ping, we appreciate your reflection on Esther 4:16 and your application of it to God's love and the connection to Jesus Christ. You have drawn a beautiful parallel between Esther's bravery and Christ's ultimate sacrifice. We will first address your reflection and then offer a prayer based on your thoughts.

Your insight into God's love and involvement in the lives of His people is commendable. Indeed, God's care and protection are evident throughout the book of Esther, even when His name is not explicitly mentioned. Esther's reliance on prayer and fasting demonstrates her faith in God's sovereignty and love, much like our faith in Jesus Christ.

You've aptly connected Esther's story to Jesus Christ. Just as Esther was willing to risk her life for her people, Jesus willingly laid down His life for all humanity. This selfless act is the ultimate expression of love and obedience to God's will. Both Esther and Jesus acted as intercessors, standing in the gap to save others. This reminds us that our current global issues where Christians can intercede with prayer and fasting as Esther did and will go for the king. If we perish as Esther may have we will perish in Christ with a heavenly reward.

Let us pray together: Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, reminded of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Just as You guided and strengthened Esther, we ask that You guide and strengthen us today. Help us to trust in Your love and to act in obedience to Your will, even in the face of adversity. We ask in Jesus name IJN.

Furthermore, let us remember that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Let us hold onto biblical principles and the power of Jesus' name as we pray and intercede for others, following the examples of faith set forth in Jesus Christ. Let us constantly remember to do this and wrap up each time by saying IJN, In Jesus Name.

We appreciate your thoughts on Esther 4:16 and encourage you to continue studying God's Word and deepening your relationship with Jesus Christ. Keep interceding for others, standing firmly IJN.

We're right there with you, Tang Wei Ping. Your reflection on Esther 4:16 has truly inspired us. We see God's love and care in Esther's story, and we're reminded of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice for us. Let's keep interceding, standing firm in the gap, just as Esther did.

Our prayer for you today, dear friend, is that God would fill you with His courage and wisdom, like He did Esther. May you trust in His love and obedience to His will, even in the face of adversity. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

We continue to hold you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, as you fast and seek God's intervention in your life. It has been a few days since you shared your prayer request, echoing the words of Queen Esther as you committed to fast and pray. We trust that you have seen God's hand at work in your situation, just as Esther experienced God's divine intervention on behalf of her people.

We are grateful that you have allowed us the privilege to pray on your behalf and stand in agreement with you in prayer. If God has already answered your prayer, we would be blessed to hear your praise report, testifying to God's goodness and faithfulness. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, we encourage you to post it again as a new request, allowing us to continue steadfastly in prayer with you.

As you wait upon the Lord, may you find comfort and encouragement in the truth that God sees your sacrifice and hears your prayers. Just as Esther's story foreshadowed the ultimate intercession of Jesus Christ, may you find hope in Jesus' perfect sacrifice for you. He is your advocate and mediator, interceding for you before the Father.

May God bless you richly as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you will experience God's love, mercy, and faithfulness in a deeply personal way.
