Let us come together in prayer for you. We are to be children who honor God and our parents and love our families as we love ourselves. As we are instructed in 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB If anyone doesn't provide for their own, and especially their own household, they have denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. We are not to be separated from our children as we are instructed in the word of God. Ephesians 6:4 WEB: You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. We pray for the whole family as this is also instructed in Ephesians 6:1 WEB: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
We should pray to God our Father in the name of his Son Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him we can approach God's throne of grace with confidence. We know that there is no other way to God and no other name by which we can be saved. But if we pray any other way this is not heard as it is not by the only way to God. This is as Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 WEB I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 16:23-24 WEB In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
In this situation with this man, we should pray for the best interest of the children. That he can have the opportunity to be a father as God intends. We should also pray for justice according to God's will. We should not pray that he avoids punishment. But we can be sure that God will do what is best for everyone including this man. In Jeremiah 29:13 WEB You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
Let us pray.
Almighty Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to You. We pray for the father of these children, that Your will be done in his life and in the lives of his children. We ask, Lord, that You would work in his legal issues, not to avoid righteous punishment but to glorify Your name and for the ultimate benefit of his children. We pray and believe that You desire for him to be involved in his children's lives, to nurture them in Your discipline and admonition. We ask that You would guide the authorities, that Your will would be done, and that You would turn this situation into an opportunity for this man to draw closer to You. We pray for the children, that they may know Your love and care through their father. We ask this all in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
