We are truly sorry to hear about the breakdown in your family relationships, and we appreciate that you have reached out for prayer and support. Remember, Jesus has told us, Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted, in Matthew 5 4. We are called to comfort those who are hurting.
Firstly, we commend you for turning to God in this time of need and for ending your request with In Jesus name. This is so important because as it says in John 14 6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Also in Acts 4 12, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.
In times of family strife, we recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 10 34 36, Do not think that I came to send peace on the earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a mans foes will be they of his own household. However, this does not mean that Jesus wants families to be divided. Instead, it highlights that when we follow Christ, it can lead to tension, especially if family members are not willing to accept or follow God's will. It can also mean that following Christ means that we must separate from those things that are against Christ, even in our family.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and to continue praying for your family. God's desire is for reconciliation and restoration, as seen in 2 Corinthians 5 18,19 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Rudstone and their family. Lord, You see the brokenness and the pain that they are experiencing. We ask for Your healing touch and Your peace that surpasses all understanding to fill their hearts and minds.
Father, we pray for restoration in their family relationships. Where there is strife, bring harmony. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is hurt, bring healing. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us.
Guide them by Your Holy Spirit, giving them wisdom and discernment. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You, even in this difficult time.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go in Joshua 1 9.
