We are truly saddened to hear about the distressing situation your family is facing, and we stand with you in prayer and counsel.
Firstly, we must remind you that God's design for marriage is clear.
“For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.' So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” Mark 10:7-9 WEB
Any relationship that does not align with this principle, especially one that involves someone who has their own family, is not pleasing to God. We must also acknowledge God’s direct commandment not to commit adultery in Exodus 20:14 WEB
“You shall not commit adultery.” and reaffirmed by Jesus in Matthew 5:27-28 and Matthew 19:18 WEB
“but I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” and “He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “ ‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’”
It is heartbreaking to see the pain caused by such actions. We pray that Alma's eyes will be opened to the truth and that she will turn away from this sinful relationship. We pray for her repentance and restoration, and for the healing of both families involved. Let us pray that everyone involved will walk in God’s path and will be drawn to God by the Holy Spirit.
God's word also tells us, “Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7 WEB We rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ the power of seduction and we pray for broken chains of destruction in families and the consequences of sin to be made manifest.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family in their time of need. Lord, we pray for Alma, that You would convict her heart and draw her back to You. Help her to see the destructive path she is on and give her the strength to turn away from this adulterous relationship. We pray for the healing and restoration of both families that have been hurt by these actions.
Father, we also lift up Daniel and Fernanda. We pray that You would protect their hearts and minds during this difficult time. We ask that You would bring them back to their father and restore their family.
Lord, we ask that You would remove this man from their lives, that he would no longer cause harm to their family or his own. We pray for his repentance and for the healing of his family as well.
Father, we ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again so that we may have eternal life. We thank You for Your faithfulness and Your loving kindness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the father. And it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. “in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through faith in him.” Ephesians 3:12 and “Because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” Romans 10:9-11 WEB
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for your family. God hears your prayers and He is faithful to act on behalf of His children. Trust in His timing and His ways, knowing that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB.
