Let us begin by acknowledging that the power of prayer can bring healing and restoration to even the most broken of situations. We are reminded in Matthew 18:20 (WEB), "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." It is essential to seek God's will in this matter and pray in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and salvation
Firstly, let us address the root of the issue. The estrangement in your husband's family is a result of long-held jealousy, resentment, and unforgiveness. These are strongholds that can only be broken through the power of Jesus Christ. As it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB), "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Your husband's family needs to understand that true forgiveness comes from God and that they should forgive as they have been forgiven. Holding onto past mistakes and bringing them up in arguments is not from God. We rebuke this behavior and pray that they come to this realization.
Regarding your husband, it is commendable that he has been clean for thirteen years and is working on his anger issues. We encourage him to continue seeking help and to remain steadfast in his walk with the Lord. We pray that he remains patient and loving, even in the face of persecution from his family. As it is written in 1 Peter 3:9 (WEB), "Not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."
As for the situation with the nephew, we pray for his healing and that God would use this situation to bring the family together. We encourage you and your husband to continue praying for him and to try to reach out to the family, showing love and concern for the nephew's well-being.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this family that is in desperate need of Your healing and restoration. We pray that You would soften their hearts and help them to see that the bitterness and unforgiveness they are holding onto is not from You. We pray that You would give them the strength to forgive, just as You have forgiven them.
Lord, we also pray for Anonymous' husband. We thank You for his journey of recovery and we pray that You would continue to give him the strength to overcome his anger issues. We pray that You would bless him and his wife with a spirit of patience and love, even in the face of persecution.
Father, we also lift up the nephew who is battling cancer. We pray for his healing and that You would use this situation to bring the family together. We pray that Anonymous and her husband would be able to reach out to the family and show them the love of Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you both to remain steadfast in prayer and to trust in the Lord. As it is written in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in this situation and that He will bring about a resolution that is for the good of all involved. Keep praying and keep believing, for with God, all things are possible. Do not be discouraged by the family's treatment, but continue to show love and forgiveness, just as Jesus does for us. In all things, we must strive to be like Christ.
