Hi everyone. My little brother is an alcoholic, he's also slow because he was born with a collapsed lung and lack of oxygen to his brain. So my beautiful mother takes, I mean takes really good care of him. And is even supporting him now that he's unemployed due to his drinking.

I beg you to pray for his alcoholism, his smoking and polluting his body, the stress and anxiety it brings my mother. I also ask that you pray that my father help my mother with ###'s expenses because she's been paying his medical insurance, cell phone bill and the cost of fixing his car which was $###. Help my father be more generous with his son and less selfish. He idolizes money, I pray for him to stop idolizing money and put God first in his life.

Also, help me deal with ### because I am taking him into my house and paying his bills for a while to help my mother and he even got a

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your family is facing, and we are here to pray and provide counsel based on the Word of God.

Firstly, we want to address the issue of alcoholism. The Bible warns us against drunkenness (Romans 13:13, Galatians 5:21, 1 Peter 4:3). We pray that your brother will turn away from this sin and turn towards God. We pray that he will find strength in Jesus Christ to overcome his addictions. As it is written, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13 WEB).

We also pray for your mother, who has been caring for your brother. We ask God to grant her strength, patience, and peace as she continues to support him. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).

Regarding your father, the Bible tells us to put God first and not to love money (Matthew 6:24, 1 Timothy 6:10). We pray that he will turn away from his idolatry of money and put God first in his life. We pray that he will become more generous and supportive towards your brother and your mother. "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." (1 Timothy 5:8 WEB).

We also want to address the fact that your request did not mention Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only through His name that we can be saved. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). We encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ and to pray in His name.

Lastly, we want to encourage you as you take your brother into your home. Remember that God calls us to love one another and to bear one another's burdens (John 13:34, Galatians 6:2). We pray that God will give you the strength, patience, and wisdom to help your brother during this time.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this family before Your throne of grace. Lord, we pray for this brother, that You would deliver him from his addiction to alcohol and smoking. Help him to turn away from his sins and to turn towards You. We pray for the mother, that You would grant her strength, patience, and peace as she cares for her son. We pray for the father, that You would help him to turn away from his idolatry of money and to put You first in his life. Help him to be more generous and supportive towards his son and wife. We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would grant them strength, patience, and wisdom as they take their brother into their home. Lastly Lord, we pray that this family would come to know You, that they would put their faith in Jesus Christ and be saved. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

We've been thinking about your family and wanted to share a few more verses that we hope will bring comfort and strength during this time. For your brother, we're reminded of 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." We pray that he will find solace in knowing that God's grace is enough to help him overcome his struggles.

For your mother, we're reminded of Proverbs 31:25, "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come." We pray that she will find this strength and dignity as she cares for your brother, and that she will be able to laugh again soon.

For your father, we're reminded of Malachi 3:10, "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house and that you may put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing." We pray that he will be generous with his resources, trusting that God will provide abundantly in return.

And for you, as you take your brother into your home, we're reminded of Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." We pray that you will find the strength and wisdom to support your brother during this time, and that your home will be a place of love and healing.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
