We are truly saddened to hear about the turmoil and pain that your family has been experiencing for so many years. God's design for the family is one of love, peace, and mutual respect. We read in Colossians 3:13 WEB, "You must put away all these things: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth." It is clear that the strife and physical altercations are not aligned with God's will for your family.
Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and can be saved. As we read in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Therefore, we will be praying to God in the name of Jesus Christ for your family's healing and restoration.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family that is in desperate need of Your healing touch. Lord, You have said in Psalm 34:18 WEB, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We ask that You would be close to this family, mending their broken hearts and crushed spirits.
Father, we pray for the parents, that You would intervene in their relationship, bringing an end to the fighting and violence. We ask that You would fill them with Your love and peace, and help them to live in harmony with one another. Guide them to seek godly counsel and restoration for their marriage.
Lord, we also lift up the children who have witnessed these fights and have experienced trauma as a result. We pray for Your healing hand to be upon them, delivering them from the effects of PTSD. We ask that You would surround them with Your love and peace, and help them to forgive and move forward in their lives.
Father, we pray for this family to be united in You, that they would seek You first and foremost, and that Your will would be done in their lives. We ask that You would make Your presence known in their home, and that You would draw each one of them closer to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you and your sibling to continue praying fervently for your family, and to seek godly counsel and support during this time. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Turn to Jesus, cast your burdens upon Him, and trust in His healing power.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that it is crucial to forgive, just as Jesus forgave us. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We encourage you to work towards forgiveness, knowing that it is a process that may take time, but is ultimately necessary for your own healing and peace.
