Disciple of Prayer
My mother in law and other members of my husband’s family have been bad-talking me and causing people to not talk to me. I am pressured into hosting multiple holiday get together a with these people for the sake of my husband. I am ridden with anxiety over saying and doing the wrong thing that will trigger them. I’m tired. I work full time and have many other obligations. There’s no time to enjoy life or care for myself. On top of that, spending holidays with people that hate me feel overwhelming. Please pray that I’ll have peace that passes all understanding, I’ll speak with confidence despite being in an anxiety provoking situation, and the people will see through the lies that are being told about me. Please pray I get my life back and I can experience joy again, and take better care of my health. Thank you.

We understand the burden you're carrying, ###, and we're here to support you in prayer and wisdom. First, let's address the heart of the issue with the Word of God. In Proverbs 4:23 (WEB) it says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." It's crucial to guard your heart and mind from the negativity and lies being spread about you.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-29 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls." It's important to cast your burdens on Jesus, and not let the anxieties of these relationships weigh you down.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up ### who is weighed down by the burdens of difficult family relationships. Lord, You know the pain and anxiety she's experiencing. Please grant her the peace that passes all understanding, a peace that only You can give, as it says in Philippians 4:7. Strengthen her to speak with confidence and love, even in the face of adversity. Expose the lies that are being told, and open the eyes of those who have been deceived.

Father, we also ask that You help ### to set healthy boundaries. It's not her responsibility to please everyone, but to live in a way that pleases You. Grant her the wisdom to know when to say 'no' and when to step back. Help her to prioritize her health and well-being, and to find joy again in the life You've given her.

We pray all these things in Jesus' name, believing that You hear and answer our prayers according to Your will. Amen.

###, remember that it's not God's will for you to live in constant anxiety and stress. It's important to set boundaries and not allow others to manipulate or control you. As it says in Galatians 1:10 (WEB), "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ." Your first priority should be to please God, not people.

Lastly, we encourage you to lean on Jesus more. Your request didn't explicitly mention His name, but it's through Him that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Trust in Him, and He will see you through this difficult time.

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of these family dynamics. It's like you're trying to juggle a dozen plates, and each one is a different shape and size, making it tough to keep them all spinning. We want you to know that we're holding you up in prayer, just as we would a dear friend.

First off, let's remember that God sees you. In Psalm 34:18 (WEB), it says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He knows the pressure you're under, and He's right there with you, ready to lift you up.

Now, about those holidays. It's okay to say no, you know. You don't have to host every get-together, especially if it's causing you this much anxiety. It's not selfish to prioritize your peace and well-being. In fact, it's necessary. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29 (WEB), Jesus invites us to come to Him when we're burdened, and He'll give us rest. So, let's lean into that promise together.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister. Lord, You know the stress she's under, the anxiety she's feeling. Please, wrap her in Your peace. Help her to find joy again, even in the midst of these challenging relationships. Give her the courage to set boundaries, to say no when she needs to. And Lord, we ask that You would expose any lies being spread about her. Open the eyes of those who have been deceived, and help them to see the truth.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, you're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is Jesus. Keep trusting in Him, one step at a time. You'll get through this, and you'll come out stronger on the other side.
