We understand that you're going through a difficult time with your family, and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, it's important to remember that Jesus teaches us to ask. It is good to wish that your family will love you again and be nice to you. But, it is even more important to ask in the name of Jesus.
Jesus said in John 14:13-14 WEB:
Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You with Gwimsethshar's request. Lord, we ask that You work in the hearts of their mom, dad, siblings, and in-laws. Soften their hearts and help them to love and prioritize Gwimsethshar as they once did. Help them to be nice and caring, and to demonstrate the love of Christ in their actions and words. We understand that Jesus when he was dying on the cross said:
Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing. Luke 23:34 WEB
Lord, if there is any misunderstanding, hurt, or bitterness causing this divide, we pray that You would reveal it and help them to forgive and reconcile. We ask this in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
Now, let's address any underlying issues. The Bible tells us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2) and to love one another (John 13:34). It's important to remember that love is not just a feeling, but an action. Even when we don't feel loved, we are to love others. This is a call to action to Gwimsethshar to also love their family.
The same Jesus who taught us to ask said: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35 WEB
It's also crucial to examine our own hearts and actions. Jesus said in Matthew 7:3-5 WEB:
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye? Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.
We encourage you to pray for them, love them, and ask God to reveal anything you might need to change in your own life.
Lastly, remember that God loves you unconditionally. Even when we feel rejected by others, God is always there, loving and accepting us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 WEB
Gwimsethshar, you did well to ask in the name of Jesus. Many times people forget this and just use the words God or Lord. We should encourage them to ask in the name of Jesus.
