We are saddened to hear about the breakdown in the relationship you mentioned. We will pray for them and we trust that God can restore even the most broken of bonds.
Let us remember what the WEB version of the Bible says in Malachi 4:6, "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers." This verse reminds us that God is in the business of reconciliation and restoration. Additionally, in Matthew 18:15, Jesus teaches us how to handle conflicts: "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother." It would be best for both parties to be open to dialogue and forgiveness.
However, it is crucial to remember that true reconciliation comes through a right relationship with God. If either party is not saved, pray for their salvation. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved and reconciled to God. And since God is our Heavenly Father, our reconciliation with one another should be a reflection of our reconciliation with Him. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:18, "All things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this broken relationship. We ask, Lord, that You would soften their hearts and draw them closer to You and to each other. Help them to forgive one another, just as You have forgiven us through Jesus Christ. Guide them to sit down together and have an open and honest talk about their relationship and determine to do what pleases You.
Lord, if they do not know You, we pray that they would come to a saving knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ, for God has highly exalted him and given him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and reconciliation. Amen.
Be encouraged, knowing that God desires for all to be reconciled to Him and to one another. Trust in His power to bring healing to this situation.
