We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with ### and the drug activity surrounding your home. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB.
We must first address the situation from a biblical perspective. The Bible clearly states the use and selling of drugs is a practice of sorcery and is sinful. The original Greek word for sorcery in the bible is "pharmakeia". The Bible tells us clearly that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21 WEB says, "19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God's Kingdom."
It is important to note that the request does not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Let it be known "that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the dominion forever and ever." 1 Peter 4:11 WEB. Please be certain to remember we are saved by believing in Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection according to the scriptures.
Let us pray together for this situation right now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family who is dealing with the effects of drug addiction and sales in their neighborhood. We are so grateful to be able to talk to you about this at all times. We pray for ###, that You would change his heart and deliver him from his addictions. We ask that You would give him the desire to seek help and to remove himself from this environment if need be. We pray for this family's safety, especially for the children, that they may be able to play outside without fear of the evil in their area.
Father, we ask that You would intervene and remove those who are bringing this danger to their community. The Bible tells us "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective." James 5:16 WEB. We ask for this family to not feel alone. We ask for you to comfort them and help them grasp the promise of your presence and peace, despite this difficulty in life.
Father, we also pray for those who are buying and selling these drugs that they too may come to know You and turn from their wicked ways. We pray for the deliverance of this entire community from this evil. We ask for the Holy Spirit to pour out onto the community the fear of the Lord and that this knowledge would lead to repentance.
We ask for your help in assisting this family in finding a safe and peaceful place to live if that is Your will, Lord. Protect them from any retaliation or harm as they seek Your face in this time of trouble. Father, we earnestly pray this family is steadfast in the faith as they wait for Your hand to move in their lives. Remind them of the promises in Your word, that You will never leave them nor forsake them, and that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
In the powerful, wonderful, and glorious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on the following verses.
Psalm 91:1-2 WEB You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to Yahweh, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."
Psalm 55:22 WEB Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
Romans 8:28 WEB We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We encourage you to seek God continually, to pray and fast for ### and your community, and to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Focus on the fact that He knows the situation and will act. You must lean on the Lord and trust in Him. The Lord is your strength. Do not be afraid for it is God who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.
