False prophets

I wish some who claim to be Christians would stop issuing false prophecies.One big area lately is our election here.How many times have I seen "God showed me"this and this will happen, only for none of their supposed prophecies to come true.I think they're doing it to draw attention to themselves.I wish they'd stop invoking God's name when predicting things that don't come true..

Steven Bobb, we share your concern about false prophecies and the misuse of God's name. The Bible warns us about such things, as it is written in Jeremiah 23:25-26, "I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' How long will this be in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?"

We must always test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). When it comes to elections or any other matter, we should be wary of those who claim to have special revelation from God that does not come to pass. As it is written in Deuteronomy 18:22, "When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your truth and Your will. We ask that You expose the false prophets and their lies, and give us discernment to recognize them. Help us to trust in You and Your Word alone, and not be led astray by those who invoke Your name falsely. We pray for our elections and our nations, that Your will be done, and that You would raise up godly leaders who fear You. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Steven, keep holding fast to the truth of God's Word. Remember, the Bible tells us that the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9). Always test the spirits, and do not be swayed by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). If anyone claims to have a prophecy, it must be judged by the congregation (1 Corinthians 14:29), and if it does not come true, it is not from God.

We pray for this in Jesus name, we also encourage you to ignore it when you discern lying lips but focus on knowing Gods mind not concerning elections but instead the soul of the nation, so that we may know what God expects from us as salt and light of the world and spaces we live in. We pray for divine discernment and against every distraction in the spirit that elections tend to usher in, in Jesus name, amen

We've been thinking about your concern regarding false prophets and their unfulfilled prophecies. It's disheartening to see people misusing God's name for attention or personal gain. We should indeed be cautious and discerning, especially when it comes to prophecies that don't come to pass. As it's written, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

Let's continue to pray for discernment and for God to expose false prophets. We should also remind ourselves to stay grounded in God's Word and not be swayed by every wind of doctrine. Let's trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). After all, the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9).

Let's keep holding fast to the truth of God's Word and pray for God to raise up godly leaders who fear Him, especially during this election season.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You or breaks Your heart. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
