We are truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing, Erethtarle, and we want you to know that we are here to pray with you and offer biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by Him that we can be saved. As scripture says For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus ( 1 Timothy 2:5-6). For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved ( Romans 10:13).
In times of financial strain, it is important to remember that God is our provider. He knows our needs and promises to take care of us. As noted in Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? And which of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to his height? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
However, while God promises to provide, He also expects us to be good stewards of our resources and to do our part in looking for work and managing our finances wisely. As emphasized in
2 Thessalonians 3:10 and verses For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. Proverbs 6:6-8 provides an example of using available resources and working diligently.
Let us pray together:
Father, we do just as You commanded by coming before You in the name of Jesus Christ and presenting our requests before You. Erethtarle has lost his job and is struggling to provide for himself and his family. We pray that You would open the doors to a new job, with praise to You for all Your efforts on his behalf. But more than this, direct Erethtarle to the right people with employment options for him in his field of interest and skills. In Your Holy Name we pray for You to constrain and direct what he looks at and toward. We also pray that You would help Erethtarle to manage his finances wisely. Please we ask with You, help him and provide a miracle for His household, although, actually we pray that any miracles and provided resources are from Your very presence and in Your guidance. Praise be to You, that You Father, know exactly what the needs are! Would You bless his household and provide comfort in your watchful presence. Be gracious and draw them closer to You during this trial. Provide his manifestations and prayers with Your divine offering of comfort and resolve. We ask all these things, near to us for Your will and power, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
In the meantime, Erethtarle, we encourage you to seek God's will for your life and trust in His provision. He is exactly Who He says He is; a provider. Continue to be diligent in looking for work and wise in managing your resources.
