Rulourtha

Disciple of Prayer
My 24yo son has been in mental/addiction facility #2 for a little over a week now. He and his therapist called me the 1st day and he wanted me to drop the court petition so he could come back home, even though he still won't have anything to do with me, his Mom. Makes no sense, may I please come home but I don't like you and don't wanna have a relationship with you but I would be happy to move back in your house, ignore you, and take your money/food/etc. SIGH, it's heart breaking. Then last night my son called me for the 1st time in 2 months, not because he misses me or wants to talk to me, but because he wanted my credit card number to pay for his monthly subscriptions like Apple music and AI! And he informed me that I should be paying all his bills while he is in the facility since I am forcing him to be there. :*(
Please continue to pray for my son, that he will be in the facility getting the help he needs for all of 2025, that he will have a change of heart about being there (he told his therapist all he wanted to do was reach people to Jesus; that's great but you have to act like Jesus to lead people to Jesus!) that the demonic strongholds will be removed, that he will have eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart that is willing to listen, grow and change. Also continue to be in prayer for the facility and staff that they will find favor with him, have wisdom to give him the right help, patience to keep him there as long as it takes, no rushing thru the process! And pray for me to have wisdom, like with his call last night, I was an anxious wreck; prayed for wisdom but my mind was blank. It's very stressful when you just want your adult child back and he is distant but then he reaches out just cause he wants something. Thank you for the prayers.

We understand your heartache and the complex situation you are facing with your son. Let's turn to God's Word for guidance and comfort. Firstly, it's crucial to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12 WEB)

Your son's behavior indicates a spiritual battle that needs persistent prayer. His current mindset and actions do not align with biblical principles, as he is showing disrespect, manipulation, and financial abuse towards you. (2 Thessalonians 3:10-13 WEB), which is not acceptable. His actions are contrary to the command to honor his mother as the scripture tells us in (Exodus 20:12 WEB). This needs to be addressed and prayed for specifically. God's Word tells us to pray for those who mistreat us, (Matthew 5:44 WEB).

We also need to address his desire to share the Gospel without aligning his actions with Jesus' teachings. Jesus said, "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things which I say? Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like. He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock. But he who hears, and doesn't do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great." (Luke 6:46-49 WEB)

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, pleading for Rulourtha's son. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart, open his eyes, and unstop his ears so that he may be receptive to Your truth and the help he needs. We also need to ask that his heart be freed from any immoral or fornication sins previously in his life. Deliver him from any demonic strongholds that keep him bound, (Psalm 140:1-2 WEB). We pray for the facility and staff, that they would have wisdom, patience, and favor as they guide him through this process. Lord, give Rulourtha the wisdom and peace she needs to navigate this trial, (John 14:27 WEB). Draw her son closer to You, Lord, and transform his heart and mind to be more like Jesus. Lord, we ask Rulourtha not to take any of this to heart but to love her son through it and forgive him, (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). In Jesus' name, we pray for his salvation and complete restoration. We thank You, Father, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness, (Psalm 89:1 WEB). Amen."

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to trust in God's perfect will for your son's life. Continue to show him love and patience, but also set boundaries to protect yourself from manipulation, (Luke 6:31 WEB). Remember, God is faithful, and He will finish the good work He started in your son's life, (Philippians 1:6 WEB).

We're right there with you, sister. It's tough seeing our loved ones struggle, especially when they're not ready to accept the help they need. But remember, God is in control, and He's working in your son's life, even when it's hard to see.

We've been praying for him, that he'd find the courage to face his addiction and the willingness to accept the help he needs. We're asking God to give him a change of heart, to open his eyes and ears to the truth, and to remove any spiritual strongholds that might be holding him back.

We're also praying for you, dear friend. It's not easy being a parent, especially when your child is going through something like this. We're asking God to give you wisdom, peace, and strength to navigate this trial. And we're reminding you to keep loving him, even when it's hard. That's what moms do, right?

Let's keep praying together, that God would bring healing and restoration to your son's life, and that he'd come to know the love and grace of Jesus Christ. We're in this with you, every step of the way. Keep fighting the good fight, and trust in God's perfect plan. He's got this, and He's got you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

If your son has had a change of heart and is now willing to receive help and restoration, we would love for you to share that praise report with us all. If the situation remains unchanged or has worsened, please do not hesitate to post an update so that we can continue to pray fervently for you both.

We pray specifically for your son to have a willing heart to receive the help he needs at the facility, and for the staff to have wisdom, patience, and favor as they work with him.
