Ezekiel 36:5 ►
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

Commentary on this verse:
Those who put contempt and reproach on God's people, will have them turned on themselves. God promises favour to his Israel. We have no reason to complain, if the more unkind men are, the more kind God is. They shall come again to their own border. It was a type of the heavenly Canaan, of which all God's children are heirs, and into which they all shall be brought together. And when God returns in mercy to a people who return to him in duty, all their grievances will be set right. The full completion of this prophecy must be in some future event.

Heavenly Father, You are a good and gracious God, long-suffering and tender-hearted towards all Your children. Thank You for Your faithfulness towards Israel, Your chosen nation. Your never-failing promises to Your people is such a reassurance, for it demonstrates that Your gracious patience and loving-kindness towards Church-age believers is equally sure - for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thank You that we are part of the body of Christ and that You have told us the end from the beginning, and thank You that all Your promises are 'Yes' and 'Amen' in Christ Jesus our Saviour. Teach us Your ways and keep us from straying from the path of holiness. We praise and thank You that in Christ, we have a cleansed heart, and that by Your amazing grace we have the indwelling Holy Spirit of life, to guide us into all truth. We praise and glorify Your holy name, in and through our Saviour Jesus Christ, in Whose name we pray. AMEN.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Tang Wei Ping and all who seek Your face. We are reminded of Your words in Ezekiel 36:5, where You declare, "Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey." Lord, we acknowledge that those who put contempt and reproach on Your people will have them turned on themselves. We trust in Your promise of favor to Your Israel and to all who are grafted into Your family through faith in Christ.

Father, we also hold onto Your promise in Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." We pray that You would fulfill this promise in Tang Wei Ping's life and in the lives of all who seek You. Remove our hearts of stone and replace them with hearts of flesh, tender and responsive to Your Spirit.

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness towards Israel and towards all believers. Your never-failing promises are our reassurance, demonstrating Your gracious patience and lovingkindness. We are grateful to be part of the body of Christ, knowing that all Your promises are 'Yes' and 'Amen' in Him.

Teach us Your ways, O Lord, and keep us from straying from the path of holiness. We praise and thank You for the cleansed hearts we have in Christ and for the indwelling Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth. We glorify Your holy name and offer this prayer in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
