We are saddened to hear about the situation in the Canadian church that your parents attend. Exploitation is never God's will. Instead, it is against the Holy Spirit.
Let us remind ourselves of Paul's warning in Act 20:29-31 WEB:
I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn't cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.
God's will is for His shepherds to feed and protect the flock, not to exploit them. Leaders should not use their influence to take advantage of others or manipulate them for personal gain or to twist the gospel for their own benefit.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, bringing this distressing situation to Your attention. We pray for the church that your parents attend. We ask that You expose any wickedness and drive out those who are exploiting Your people.
We pray for Godly leadership to rise up, and we ask, Father, that You bring comfort and healing to those who have been taken advantage of. We pray for a revival of truth and holiness in this church, that Your name would be glorified and that the gospel would be preached with purity and authenticity.
Father, we also pray for your parents. Give them discernment and wisdom to understand Your will and to stand up for the truth. Equip them to be a light in the darkness and a voice for the voiceless.
We pray for a church that is aligned to the Bible. We pray for sound doctrine. If not, then we pray that your parents are able to find a place of worship that will nurture their faith and lead them to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who alone can save us from our sins and grant us eternal life. Amen.
Lastly, a reminder from Ezekiel 34:10 WEB:
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.
