Let's bring your request to God in prayer, seeking His will for your life. First though, we need to address a few things. Being apart from someone you care about can be difficult, but it's crucial to align our desires with God's will and His principles for relationships.
God's word tells us to "Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" as said in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. This means that we should be looking for a spouse, not just any relationship. Courtship is the biblical model for finding a spouse. Also, 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB says "A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she wants, only in the Lord." This means that we should not be looking for any spouse, but a Christian spouse.
Additionally, you mentioned that you wanted to get back together with your ex, but there was no mention of marriage. We must remember that God desires that those who are not married remain sexually pure. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 WEB says "But I say to the unmarried and to widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I am. But if they don't have self-control, let them marry. For it's better to marry than to burn." This means we should not be trying to get back together with our ex if the goal is not marriage.
Furthermore, there was no mention of Jesus Christ or his name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB says "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let's pray together, seeking God's will for your life:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear soul who is seeking Your will for their relationship. We pray that You guide them and give them wisdom to understand Your principles for relationships and marriage. We ask that You help them to see that Your desire is for them to be married to a Christian spouse, not just to have a relationship. We pray that You help them to understand that You desire for them to have self-control and to be sexually pure outside of marriage. We ask that You help them to see that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and have access to God.
We ask that You heal any past hurts and restore them with renewed love and respect, not just for their ex, but for You and Your principles. We pray that You help them to communicate openly and honestly with their ex, but only if it is Your will for them to be married. We ask that You help them to see that You desire for them to be equally yoked with a believer, not just to be in a relationship with someone they care about.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray for healing of any anger and frustration that may have developed in their relationship. We pray for clear communication, understanding, and patience for both of them. We ask that Your will be done in their lives.
Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Help them to seek You first and to trust in Your timing. Give them the strength to move forward, whether that means reconciling or moving on. We pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
