Disciple of Prayer
While I pray for many things regarding my relationship with my ex, I hope beyond everything that God encounters him.
That the Holy Spirit will enter my ex's heart, soul and mind.
That, as painful as this may sound, everything my ex believed in that had nothing to do with God be shaken and overturn. That my ex sees Christ's glory and power, how God is more than willing to forgive, provide, and save us. I pray, just like for myself, that my ex realizes that God is the source of love and everything that love encompasses. God told me that He has perfect and good plans for my ex.
And while I desire to be part of those plans, more than anything, I desire that my ex encounters God.
For God knows better than I. I know it's hard to admit, but God really knows.
It's scary, because it feels like this is the end for my ex and I. That my ex and I will never have another chance. Selfishly, I don't want to be a lesson or a memory to my ex. I pray that I become part of his life and his future, not as a friend but as the woman that will support him.
God, I desire Your will on my ex's life. I have never felt this way nor prayed this way for anyone. I remember praying to God to help me love my ex in the way He wanted me to; that I may love my ex the way Jesus Christ loves him.
I'm scared of what the Holy Spirit will tell me, but I pray that God will help me accept whatever it is. And more than just accept, learn to love what it was for what it was and not for what it could have been. I pray that God will also help me view the relationship with genuine love and to not base it on what-ifs, what could be, and what should have been. It's tempting.
Father God, help me.
I have prayed about this fervently and desperately.
I pray for restoration. I know God that when you restore, it is not just a simple fix but it's good as new with upgrades and something entirely different. Restore my ex and I, restore the love we shared and may that love that we could have, so long as it's in Your will, be the kind of love that comes from You. That honors You.
God, I pray that as of now, my ex and I do not engage in any relationships that could harm us or hinder us from growing in You. Especially my ex's unbelief, I pray God that You cover him with Your love and grace. I pray, Father, that You remove the vices from my ex's life. I pray that You open my ex's eyes to Your Word.
Father, You told us in Your Word that if we ask, we will receive.
God, give me clarity in this relationship. I pray, Father, that You reveal to me the purpose of our relationship and our separation. That if this is a lesson, that You only allowed this to happen, God comfort me and remind that You are the Lord. But God, if this is only a temporary hiatus, I pray that when my ex and I are reunited, we pursue a relationship that is pleasing and honoring in Your eyes. Please, Father, give me and my ex a second chance with one another in love.
Father God, pull me closer into Your arms. You hold my ex in the palm of Your hands. I pray, Almighty Father, that my ex and I be healed from more than just this relationship. that we pursue You, Lord.
I thank You, Father, that one of the things that stuck with me is to continuously pray for this man. Lord God, I have yet to fully understand the purpose of You telling me that Your plans are perfect for this man. But one thing I assured of is that my ex's life is in Your hands.
Perhaps You whispered it into my ear as a promise that one day, I will see this man thrive in and glorify Your name. That I will see Your loving hands in his life in the future. But my Father, I desire to be part of that future. Please.
Lord God, uproot what needs to be removed. Reveal what needs to be shown.
And in all of this, I pray that my ex and I will see more of You.
Lord, I love my ex. I will always love my ex.
But let not my love for my ex hinder me from loving You more.
Lord God, fill me with Your peace and love.
That the Holy Spirit will enter my ex's heart, soul and mind.
