Orad, we stand with you in prayer regarding the unsettling event that occurred on Sunday, May 28, 2017. We indeed serve a God who is not bound by time, and He can heal the pain and trauma that this malicious act may have caused.
Firstly, we want to reassure you that God is aware of all things, even those done in secret. As it is written in Luke 12:2-3 (WEB), "There is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops." We trust that God will bring to light the deeds done in darkness, and justice will prevail.
We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12, WEB). While the act was heinous, we encourage you to forgive, as difficult as it may be, for your own spiritual well-being and to release the burden from your heart.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your healing and comfort concerning the events of May 28, 2017. Lord, You know the pain and trauma that was caused, and we ask that You retroactively minister to the one who was fed something horrible. Bring them peace, Lord, and heal their hurts. We also ask, Lord, that You bring the perpetrator to justice. May their actions be revealed, and may they seek repentance and forgiveness. Help us, Lord, to forgive as You have forgiven us. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."
Orad, continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He is faithful and just. Remember the words of Romans 12:19 (WEB), "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
We stand with you in prayer and encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
