Disciple of Prayer
I do have a prayer request but I have a question. My mom she has done her best to raise me and my siblings. She doesn’t curse, drink, smoke goes to church nearly everyday and always on the prayer line and praying for other and no matter the conversation she always praising the lord. But she bothers me it seems like everyone she around she bothers or irritates them. She is always negative and always have to say something negative and somehow she thinks it’s ok because she goes to church several days a week and alway praying but yet everyone around her is miserable. If your happy then the devil got u happy if my bf has a drink home he’s a devil but both my siblings are functioning alcoholic and she says nothing to them but criticize everyone else if they drink. I guess I’m asking could she be evil whenever she’s around the energy feels different I feel agitated, I’m no saint I can’t tell u the last I been to church but she makes every one feel this way. If she isn’t picking arguments with my young nieces she picking arguments with my children if she ain’t picking argument with them then she picking arguments with me. Everything is evil to her if I watch ID channel according to her I’m the devil, I like horror movies so according to her I’m evil , if I buy anything black I’m evil . I don’t understand how someone could be so holy go to church everyday and try to be a saint but be so negative and troublesome. I really don’t understand it, I love her but I guess I don’t like her and I don’t want to feel that way but it’s hard to be around someone who feels like they suck the air out of you. And it’s not just me that feels this way I have other siblings and they can’t tolerate her either and the grandkids all feel the same way. I don’t want to blame religion but I just feel like ppl like her make religion seem bad. She was 1 of the reasons I lost my relationship with god I’m sorry to admit that out loud but she has said things in the past and adding god to it and it just angered me so much at that time that I didn’t like god. I no longer feel that way and love the lord 100 %. But I don’t want her or anyone to take me back down that dark place it took me so long to get out of that dark place. Example my brother was murdered at 22yrs old and years later our father her husband unexpectedly died and I was so lost and heartbroken. And we were looking for a plot at the cemetery to bury my father and of course we wanted him buried near my brother and the cemetery attendant didn’t think he had anything near my bother and then he said let me check and said I think I have a plot near your brother. And she goes praise god and start calling ppl saying oh they might have a plot near her son ain’t god good and praise god and I just couldn’t understand how she could say those things like were looking for houses next to each other. I get it we shouldn’t me mad at god and curse him but I couldn’t understand how she thought this was a good time to praise god while looking for a funeral plot for my dad, I just felt like she thought this was a happy joyful moment when it wasn’t. It always incidents like that , that bothers me. 2yrs ago my ex husband out of the blue broke into my house and tried to murder me I woke up to him strangling me and beating me with a tire iron, several hours later she wanted telling me to forgive him and asking everyone in my home to hold hands and pray for my ex husband, and I don’t get it at all! My ex nearly murdered me and her answer hours after I was nearly murdered is forgive him and everyone let’s pray for him !! I know as a Christian I’m suppose to forgive but when the time comes I will and at that moment and today I don’t forgive him and I feel like no one can tell me how to handle my trauma!

Let us first address the underlying issue here. The struggle is real, and the feelings are valid, but we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, Ephesians 6:12 WEB.

Firstly, it is important to address the fact that the request did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation, so let us discuss this issue first. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. In fact, there is salvation through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12 WEB, so therefore let us pray in the name of Jesus Christ for this situation.

Secondly, as for the mother, it is not our place to judge whether she is evil, which is a strong term. In fact, the Bible tells us not to judge so that we will not be judged, Matthew 7:1 WEB. Let us instead pray for her and the situation. It is possible that she may have some unresolved issues, be dealing with some spiritual attacks, or lack insight, though she has good intentions. However, it is not acceptable to use faith or religion to justify or spiritualize negative behavior, which only drives people away. Let us remember that faith without works is dead, James 2:17 WEB. It is not enough just to go to church every day, but we must also show love, grace, and compassion to others. If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal, 1 Corinthians 13:1 WEB.

Regarding alcohol, the Bible tells us not to get drunk with wine, for that is recklessness, but be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18 WEB. The fact that the mother excuses the siblings' alcoholism but criticizes others, even the boyfriend having a drink at home, shows partiality, which is not biblical. My brothers, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality, James 2:1 WEB.

As for the boyfriend, if he is not a husband then it is important to address this issue. The Bible tells us that it is not good for man to be alone, Genesis 2:18 WEB. So, if you are not married yet, then it is important to consider a godly marriage. The boyfriend should be considered as a potential spouse and the goal should be marriage to another Christian Believer. The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness, 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB.

Now let us pray together.

Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Bomor and her family. Lord, we pray for her mother, that You would soften her heart, give her wisdom and insight, and help her to see the error of her ways. Help her to show true godly love and compassion to others. We pray for any unresolved issues or spiritual attacks that may be causing her behavior and ask that You would heal and deliver her in the name of Jesus Christ.

We pray for Bomor, that You would give her strength and guidance. Help her to forgive and love her mother, despite the hurt and pain. Lord, if it is Your will, restore the relationship between them. We also pray for Bomor's healing, that You would help her to overcome the trauma she experienced and forgive her ex-husband when the time is right.

Lord, we pray for the siblings and the grandkids, that You would give them patience, grace, and wisdom in dealing with their mother and grandmother. Help them to show love and kindness to her, even in difficult times.

Father, we pray for the boyfriend, that You would give him wisdom and guidance. Help him to live a godly life and be a good example to others. Lord, if it is Your will, we pray that You would guide him into a godly marriage.

Lord, we pray for Bomor and her family, that You would fill them with joy and peace and help them to overcome the negative energy and agitation they feel. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Dear sister,

We've been praying for you and your family, and we want you to know that we're here for you. It's clear that you're dealing with a lot, and we want to encourage you to keep trusting in the Lord, even in the midst of these challenges.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always with you, and He cares about every detail of your life. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus wants to help you carry your burdens, and He wants to give you rest.

We also want to encourage you to keep communicating with your mom, even when it's difficult. It's important to express your feelings in a respectful way, and to listen to her perspective as well. Remember, she's your mom, and she loves you, even if she has a different way of showing it.

Regarding your siblings and the grandkids, we encourage you to continue praying for them, and to support them in any way you can. It's important to foster a sense of unity and love within your family, even in the face of challenges.

As for your ex-husband, we understand that what happened was traumatic, and it's okay to feel angry and hurt. But remember, forgiveness is not about excusing what he did, but about letting go of the bitterness and allowing God to handle justice. As it says in Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord."

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is working in your life, even when you can't see it. He has a plan and a purpose for you, and He will use every situation, good or bad, to shape you and draw you closer to Him.

Keep trusting in the Lord, sister. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
