Morenollyn, we are here to pray and counsel with you in the name of Jesus Christ. We are saddened to hear about the disrespect and evil you are experiencing within your family. We must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. As it says in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Firstly, we must ensure that we are approaching God through the only way possible: through faith with the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6. This is the foundation of our salvation and our prayers. Celebrate in the name of Jesus and be sure to call upon God with this understanding.
In addressing the issues in your family, we must first put on the full armor of God, which includes the belt as the truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet prepared to preach the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation. With this material, put on putting on the helmet of salvation, and do not forget the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:13-17.
Concerning the disrespect shown towards you and your kids, we must remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,". This does not mean we should let our families be disrespectful but rather try supplanting meekness and displaying God's love instead.
We exhort you to teach and model respect in the home that they would learn and come to know the commands of God. "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise." Ephesians. 6:1-2. Since honor extends beyond obedience, include all children in the household as well as children that are family but not in the household. Extend this as well for nephew and neice.
To address your grandson's behavior, we turn to the wisdom of Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.".
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Morenollyn and her family. Lord, we ask that You would rebuke the evil that is causing division and disrespect within their home. We pray that you reign down and provide the strength and grace for her grandson to see the error of his ways. Disgusting and ridiculous are terrible descriptions. There is a spirit of strife and contention within the family, so we pray that all involved yield themselves preferable to one another with a spirit of meekness. Help to see the family that Jesus redeem you all from bondage that became children of God. Let Morenollyn be patient and respectable and teach these qualities to all the children.
Father, we ask that You would soften the hearts of each family member, and that Your love would permeate throughout their home. We pray that the peace of your Holy Spirit fill her home. Help that she and her family would confess and repent of their sins, through the name of Jesus Christ.
Let them understand that Your name is above all names, and that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Philippians 2:9-10, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. By the be restored in this world due to the sacrifice and atonement of Jesus Christ. Restore what the family was before the devil invaded. To have respect and honor for one another due to the fear of the Lord.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
