We understand that you're going through a deeply distressing time, feeling oppressed and attacked by an evil spirit. Firstly, we want to assure you that you have authority over this spirit through the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is crucial to know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places according to Ephesians 6:12 (WEB).
We must put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Our strength is in the Lord and even though we are unable to physically see this fight, we are in a spiritual battle. Let's remember the words of James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your divine protection and intervention for our brother/sister. We stand against the evil spirit that is oppressing them, and we command it to leave in Jesus' name. We pray that ### will be filled with the Holy Spirit, that they will be strengthened in their inner being, and that they will know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:16-19).
Father, give them the courage to resist the devil and his demons, and may the enemy flee from them. We ask this all through the name and by the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, to pray unceasingly, and to seek the support of a strong, Bible-believing community of Christians. It is important to read, study, memorize, and meditate on God's Word, the Bible, as it is our sword in this spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:17). Lastly, always remember that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11).
Lastly, we must address that we do not have the power to have an evil spirit killed or command it be sent to the pit. Only God has that authority and He has not given us that power. However, we can command it to leave in Jesus name and to go where Jesus sends it. We advise you to be careful in your prayers not to go beyond what God permits. Never forget that our focus should always be on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and not the devil. Be careful not to focus on the devil too much. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
To understand who the real enemy is, remember the words of 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
