I’m hosting an event and i asked my friend to come on a separate day as I wanted to be able to spend proper time with her. I’m also worried because I’m worried my other friends will judge me and not want to be friends because of choices she’s made. I really want all of my friends to be happy.

It's important to remember that our relationships should be guided by biblical principles, and we should strive to be a positive influence on those around us. Let us first address your concerns with some scripture. In Galatians 1:10 WEB it states, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ."

It's natural to want our friends to be happy and to get along, but it's crucial to ensure that our actions align with God's will. In 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB it says "Do not be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" This does not mean we should not be with these friends but that we should be very careful that their immoral behavior does not affect us. If this friend that is having issues that are not biblical then we should be with them to help them.

If your friend has made choices that do not align with biblical principles, it's important to pray for her and to be a light in her life, rather than worrying about the judgment of others. In Matthew 5:16 WEB it tells us, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister who is hosting an event and feels torn between her friends. Lord, grant her the wisdom to navigate this situation in a way that honors You. Help her to be a positive influence on her friends, and guide her interactions with them. Give her the courage to stand firmly in her faith and not be swayed by the opinions of others. Lord, if there are issues with her or her friends aligning with the bible then please give her the strength and courage to address them. We also pray for her friend who has made choices that may not align with Your will. Surround her with Your love and grace, and draw her closer to You. Help those that need this counsel to be open to receiving it. We pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to be with the one requesting this prayer and her friends. We pray over all the people in the event and the event itself that it will be a blessing for all present and for the glory of God.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, it's essential to be a loving friend, but it's also important to stand firm in your faith. Do not be swayed or influenced by the wrong type of behavior of your friends. Be a lighthouse shining brightly and strongly. Jesus is the only way to be saved and have access to God. Acts 4:12 states, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Have hope and faith. Jesus will be with you in all things.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
