Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our hearts in prayer. We seek Your guidance and strength to live according to Your Word, as it is written in John 14:15, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." Help us to be obedient to Your will, just as the apostles declared in Acts 5:29, "We must obey God rather than men."
Lord, we ask for the willingness to be obedient, as Isaiah 1:19 says, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." May we be blessed as we hear Your Word and keep it, as stated in Luke 11:28, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
Father, we pray for Your protection and guidance, as promised in Exodus 23:22, "But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries." Help us to choose the way of faithfulness and set Your rules before us, as in Psalm 119:30, "I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me."
Lord Jesus, make Your home with us as we keep Your word, as You promised in John 14:23, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." May we not just be hearers of the word, but doers, as James 1:22-25 instructs us, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."
Guide us, Lord, to walk in Your ways and listen to Your voice, as Jeremiah 7:23 says, "But this command I gave them: βObey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.β" Help us to keep Your commandments and abide in You, as 1 John 3:24 states, "Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him."
May we hasten and not delay to obey Your commandments, as in Psalm 119:60, "I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments." Teach us to do Your will, for You are our God, as in Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!"
Lord, help us to learn obedience through what we suffer, as Hebrews 5:9 says, "And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him." May our faith be alive through our works, as James 2:17, 2:24, and 2:25 remind us, "So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
Help us to keep Your commandments and overcome the world, as 1 John 5:2-3 says, "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." May we hold fast to Your word with an honest and good heart, as in Luke 8:15, "As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
