Dear loved one, we come before you today to lift up our brother or sister in Christ who has invoked your holy name in their time of need. They have asked for your forgiveness, and we know that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, WEB).
They have asked for endurance and strength to face these days. We remember the words of the apostle Paul, who said, "Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:1-2, WEB). We pray that you will grant them the spirit of endurance, to persevere through every trial and affliction. Strengthen their heart and hands for the work that you have called them to do (Hebrews 13:21, WEB).
They have also asked for the willingness and courage to act, and for the removal of all laziness. We remember the words of Solomon, who said, " Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10, WEB). We pray that you will fill them with the desire to serve you and others, with boldness and courage. Help them to cast off every hindrance, including laziness, that so easily entangles them (Hebrews 12:1, WEB).
We noticed that their prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind them that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, for "There is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB). We encourage them to come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord (Hebrews 4:16, WEB).
Father, we ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We pray that you will pour out your blessings upon our brother or sister, that they may be strengthened and encouraged in their walk with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
