We understand that you're going through a significant time of transition and uncertainty. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He will guide you through this period. Remember the words of Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with My eye."
We're concerned about some of the language used to describe your marriage. God takes marriage very seriously. It is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Jesus taught in Mark 10:9 "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." And in Malachi 2:16 we are asked, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously." We encourage you to seek godly counsel and consider reconciliation if at all possible. Pray for your spouse and trust that God can bring healing and restoration.
Regarding your hope to find a new church home please remember that the church is not just a building, but a community of believers. We believe that God has a place for you to grow and serve. As you search, remember the words of Hebrews 10:25, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."
We are concerned that you do not finish the prayer with any reference to Jesus. It is important to remember that we only have access to God through Jesus. In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved. We believe that you should believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. We understand that when you pray you might be talking to God and Jesus knows this. However, remember that Jesus is God and Man and it is important to pray to Him.
Concerning praying about the person you do not want to see again. We are instructed to pray for our enemies as Jesus told us in Luke 6:27-28, "But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who insult you."
The issue with your finances, income, and benefits has been a concern for you. God is faithful and will provide for your needs. As we are reminded in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in need of guidance and provision. We ask that You guide them to a church home where they can grow and serve in Your name. We pray for their marriage, that Your will be done, and that You would bring healing and restoration if that is Your desire. We pray that You would soften their heart towards their spouse and remind them of the commitment they made before You. We pray for their finances, that You would provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask that You would give them patience and peace in this time of uncertainty. We pray that You would help them to be obedient to pray for their enemies. We pray that they would look to You, Lord Jesus, for salvation and guidance.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be patient and trust in God's timing. He has a plan and a purpose for you. Stay strong in your faith and continue to seek His will.
