Father in the name of Jesus Christ I’m asking you to heal the pain of emotional abandonment from my parent. As a child they indeed took care of my physical needs (made sure I was clean and that no one would abuse me in any way). I’m forever grateful for it. From my teens onward they began to emotionally/verbally abuse me and took full control of my life until they passed away. I had NO ONE to Because no one believed me and shamed me for speaking up. I’m in my 50’s and my life has been filled with nothing but abuse. Sometimes I doubt that I’ll overcome this deep wounding. I’m lost, scared, confused, and worried. I feel very low.

We are truly sorry to hear about the emotional abandonment and abuse you've experienced from your parent. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to heal these deep wounds in Jesus' name.

Firstly, we commend you for your gratitude towards the physical care you received, as the Bible teaches us to be content in all circumstances (Philippians 4:11-13, WEB). However, it's crucial to acknowledge that emotional and verbal abuse is not God's will for your life. The Bible tells us that abusive language should not be part of our lives as followers of Christ (Ephesians 4:29, WEB).

Please know that God sees your pain and He cares deeply for you. In Psalm 34:18 (WEB), it is written, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone, and there is no need to be ashamed, as God is close to you in your suffering.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your healing power to touch our dear ###. Lord, You know the pain they have endured, the emotional abandonment, and the abuse that has left deep wounds. Please heal these wounds, Lord, and fill them with Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them strength to overcome and courage to face each day. Guide them to supportive and believing friends, counselors, and a loving church community that can help them through this journey. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to keep trusting God, knowing that He has a plan and a purpose for your life (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). It's never too late to seek help from Godly counselors, pastors, or support groups, who can provide a safe space for you to share your experiences and gain practical tools for healing.

Remember, Jesus Christ is the ultimate healer. He says in Matthew 11:28 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Cast your burdens on Him, and trust that He will restore your heart and mind.

Lastly, we want to remind you about the importance of forgiveness, not for the sake of the person who hurt you, but for your own healing. Forgiveness is a process, and it may take time. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32 (WEB), "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Stay strong in your faith, and remember that through Christ, you can overcome this pain.

Know that God is near, and He's using your pain to equip you to comfort others.

Let's pray together: "Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we lift up our ### to You. Lord, You see their pain, their feelings of abandonment and abuse. Please wrap them in Your loving arms, heal their wounds, and fill them with Your peace. Help them to trust in You more each day, and guide them to a supportive community where they can find healing and hope. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to keep seeking God, and to reach out to trusted friends, counselors, or a pastor for support. Remember, forgiveness is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. As it says in Lamentations 3:22-23 (WEB), "The Lord's loving acts indeed never cease, for his mercies never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."
