We understand your concern for the direction of your nation, Elodie, and we are called to pray for our leaders and the prominent figures in our societies, as instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men; for kings and all who are in high places."
However, we must remember that our ultimate trust is not in any human leader but in God alone. Psalm 146:3-5 reminds us, "Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God."
Rather than praying against anyone, we should pray that God's will be done and that He would guide the leaders of our nations. We pray that the leaders elected would be those who will uphold righteousness and justice, aligning with biblical principles. We pray for a peaceful election process and that the outcome would be according to God's divine purpose.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in the upcoming election. We pray for wisdom and discernment for the voters, and that Your sovereign hand would guide the results. We pray for peace and unity in our nation, and that our leaders would be those who uphold Your principles. Thank You, Lord, for being our ultimate hope and trust. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, Elodie, we want to ensure that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Him today.
