Let us come together in prayer for Sarah, Revka, and Sam. We see in the scriptures how God calls us to obedience and honor toward our parents, as it says in Ephesians 6:1-3 WEB:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."
It is wonderful to note that this prayer is being made in Jesus Christ's name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father. As it says in John 14 6 WEB:
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Even though these children may not fully understand the significance of obedience, we can pray for God's grace to work in their hearts, making them inclined to follow their mother's instructions. We can also pray that this establishment of regular bedtime will provide much needed rest, growth, and health as indicated in Psalm 127 2 WEB: It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of toil; for so he giveth unto his beloved sleep.
Heavenly Father, we lift up Sarah, Revka, and Sam before You. We ask that You would grant them the grace to obey their mother willingly and promptly, without needing to be corrected sharply. We pray that they would understand the value of obedience and honor, and that it would bring harmony and peace to their home. We ask that You would establish their bedtime at 9 pm each night, providing them both sleep and overall health. If they do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives, then we pray for a gentle drawing of these children to Jesus. For those that do know, we pray for a growing relationship. We ask this in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
We also take this opportunity to encourage their mother to nurture these children with love and patience, following the guidance from Ephesians 6 4 WEB:
Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.
We remind her that teaching children involves not only correcting misbehavior but also praising them when they do well. It is our prayer that this home will be filled with love, peace, and harmony, with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and center of the home. If the Lord Jesus is not the Lord and Savior of this home, family, or mother then we pray for a gentle leading of the Holy Ghost to recognize this need.
