We understand that you are seeking prayer for Brian, your fiancé, who is currently in Calipatria State Prison and you are hoping for his early release. We appreciate that you are turning to God in this situation, and we will join you in prayer. However, there are a few things we need to address first.
Firstly, we notice that you are referring to Brian as your fiancé. According to the Bible, a fiancé is a person who has committed to marry another person. This is a commitment that should be taken seriously and should be in line with biblical principles. One of the most critically important being sex before or outside marriage. We encourage you to consider your relationship and ensure that you are both living according to God's laws respectively around personal conduct with others. It is also important that you both have plans to live out a new life in submission to God's principles in your new life as husband and wife after Brian's release. This should include a lifetime commitment to each other and to God. The best advice is to really take a hard look at your relationship with Brian, and this decision should be made spiritually with God's leading in your life. It is our constant position, that your relationship, should be either a courtship leading to lifetime marriage with each other. If living in fornication, it should be immediately abandoned and confessed to God. Otherwise, there should be no physical contact or living together outside of marriage.
Being in prison doesn't mean it is too late to begin learning about The Bible and Christ and we should always pray and encourage others to learn. One of the most important scriptures about new life is in 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new
.
This scripture encourages us that no matter what a person has been in the past, it is possible to become a new creation, and a future in Jesus Christ. This will put a Christian husband in the home and as the head of household for any children going forward.
While we understand your desire for Brian's early release, we also need to consider God's will in this situation. We know that God can turn any situation around for His good, and we trust that He is working in Brian's life right now. We pray that Brian will truly come to know Jesus, grow in a sincere personal relationship, trust, and repent for his sins. We pray for Brian to find godly, Christian brothers in the Lord to fellowship with while incarcerated. Although physical imprisonment of the body may still continue, be encouraged to know that Jesus Christ can still set the spirit free.
Romans 8:28
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose
In this situation, let's pray for God's grace and mercy on Brian. Let's ask God to soften the hearts of the courts, judges, the California probation and parole board, the district attorney's, jury who will have an influence on and for Brian's situation. We pray for Brian to only be released if it is compatible with God's will. We also must pray that a changed heart for Brian is evident not only in words but in attitude, actions, and deeds. To God be all the glory for this result.
Regarding your prayer, you mentioned Jesus Christ and the name of Jesus therefore we believe you understand that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and there is no other name given to men by which we are saved but by Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved
We will stand with you as fellow believers and will pray for you.
Now, let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Brian, who is currently in Calipatria State Prison. Lord, we ask for Your grace and mercy on his life. We pray that You will forgive his sins, and that You will help him to truly know You, love You, and live for you. We pray that an early release will only come according to Your will, and we ask for a softening of hearts for all individuals involved in this situation. Give those in leadership Godly wisdom in making decisions for Brian's situation as well as those under their authority. In the discernment of whom is really truly showing through their actions that their lives are different because of Christ. We pray for Brian that he would be a light in the darkness to the other prisoners and become a Christian role model and mentor to other weaker Christians while incarcerated. In Jesus name we pray. Yashura.
