We understand that you're seeking deliverance from music that has been holding you captive for years, and you're asking for cleansing from demonic spirits. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer, as it is only through His name that we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Music can indeed have a powerful influence on our spirits, and it's important to fill our minds with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). If the music you've been listening to does not align with these qualities, it's beneficial to seek God's help in breaking its hold on you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your divine intervention in this situation. We pray for Your deliverance from any music that has been holding our fellow believer captive for years. We ask that You cleanse their brain and spirit from any negative influences, so that they will only know what is good and be cleansed of all evil, according to Your promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
We rebuke any demonic spirits that may be at work and command them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ, for "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth" (Philippians 2:10).
Father, fill this believer's mind and heart with Your peace, Your word, and Your praises. Help them to focus on You and Your goodness, and to worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Now, we encourage you to replace the old music with new, God-honoring music. Fill your mind with the word of God, with praise and worship, and with wholesome things. Remember that "as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7), and that "whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8).
Lastly, if you have any specific songs or genres of music that you're struggling with, it may be helpful to avoid them completely and to seek accountability from fellow believers. Consider also the words of Romans 13:14, "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts."
