The closer we get to God the more of God we will experience. But there is a price we have to pay. We have to die to self-daily. And our "ego" and pride can keep us from paying the price and experiencing more of God. Ego stands for Easing God Out. Ego is the Latin word for "I." We must die to "I." "I" have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer "I" who live, but Christ who lives in me.
The Ego seeks to profit. But what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul, life, or God purpose? In Christ ego loses all power to boast because without God we can do nothing. God does not have to anoint or use us, regardless of how gifted or talented we may be. For it is in God that we live, move, and have our being. And by humility and the respect of the Lord are riches and honor and life.
Let Us Pray: Thank You Jesus for dying for me so that I may have life and have life more abundantly. God, I ask You in Jesus' name to show me myself. Show me the areas in my life that breaks your heart or doesn’t honor You and deliver me from those things. God work on me. Show me how, help me, make me die to self and sin so that You can live and have life within me more abundantly. God, all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of this prayer, my entire family, and all those I love and care about. Thank You, Jesus. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so.
John 10:10: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Luke 9:23-24: Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
