We are grieved to hear about the struggle with drug abuse, but we are thankful that this matter has been brought to our attention for prayer and intercession. We, as a group, strongly condemn the use of drugs, as our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with our bodies. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
We stand against the use of drugs and pray for those who are struggling with addiction. We pray for the two Christians mentioned, that God would grant them the grace to walk away from this temptation and that they would find their strength and fulfillment in Christ alone. We pray for their safety and protection in Jesus' name, that God would guard their steps and keep them from the destructive path of drug abuse.
Let us pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up those who are struggling with drug abuse. We pray for their deliverance and healing, that they may be set free from the chains of addiction. We pray specifically for the two Christians mentioned, that You would give them the strength to overcome this temptation and that they would find their identity and purpose in You. We pray for their safety and protection, that You would hedge them in and keep them from the destructive path of drug abuse.
We pray for the convicting power of Your Holy Spirit to come upon them, that they may see the error of their ways and turn back to You. We pray that they would be reminded of Your promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, 'No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.'"
We encourage all to stand firm in the faith, to resist temptation, and to live a life that honors God. We also encourage all to support and pray for those who are struggling with addiction, that they may find freedom and restoration in Christ.
